Governance Maturity Assessment.

Benchmark your organisation across six governance domains against a COSO and King IV aligned five-level maturity model — fully in your browser, with zero external data egress.

Board-Grade Privacy All evaluations and scores run locally in browser memory. No board data, scoring responses, or gap analyses are ever transmitted or stored externally.

Diagnostic Evaluation

Rate your organisation across 30 statements.

Work through six governance domains and score each statement from Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree. The model evaluates interaction effects between domains to produce an executive maturity profile and prioritised roadmap.

Methodology & Framework

How the assessment works.

The diagnostic implements a five-level governance maturity model aligned to COSO's Internal Control — Integrated Framework and the King IV Report on Corporate Governance. The 30 statements — five per domain — reflect established board governance standards and evaluate structural controls against commercial realities.

Domain averages feed into a calibrated classifier trained on institutional governance profiles, calculating interaction effects between control and risk oversight rather than presenting a naive unweighted average.

Level 1 — Initial
Ad hoc and reactive. No formal governance processes in place.
Level 2 — Developing
Processes emerging but inconsistently applied across operating units.
Level 3 — Defined
Standardised processes documented, approved, and communicated.
Level 4 — Managed
Processes measured, monitored, and controlled through defined KRIs.
Level 5 — Optimising
Continuous improvement embedded; aligned to international standards.
Domain What is assessed
Board & Leadership Board composition, committee structure, effectiveness evaluation, and tone from the top.
Risk Management ERM framework, risk appetite, risk registers, KRIs, and strategic integration.
Internal Controls Control documentation, segregation of duties, testing, deficiency remediation, and internal audit.
Ethics & Integrity Code of conduct, whistleblowing, conflicts of interest, ethics training, and enforcement.
Compliance & Regulation Regulatory mapping, monitoring schedules, change management, and sanction history.
Reporting & Transparency Financial reporting, board reporting, external disclosures, and governance publications.
Scoring & Threshold Calibration

Each statement is rated on a 1–5 scale: Strongly Disagree (1) to Strongly Agree (5). Domain averages map to formal maturity bands: Initial (≤ 1.8), Developing (≤ 2.6), Defined (≤ 3.5), Managed (≤ 4.4), Optimising (> 4.4).

The overall organisational rating is computed to reflect systemic risk: severe vulnerabilities in Internal Controls or Ethics will drag down high scores in Board reporting.
